What is Konnects?
Konnects powers online newspaper communities. Our social media platform for magazines and newspapers is intended to bring growth and engagement to your organization's website. Our Software as a Service (SaaS) platform is designed to be integrated into any website easily. The Konnects Community Platform includes social networking, commenting, registration tools, user-generated content, advertising and community analytics for online newspapers and publications. A successful community is much more than just deploying a social appliation. Our solutions team is available throughout the entire community deployment process to assist in multiple areas from strategic planning, launching the platform and goal tracking.
Management
Jim Crabbe, CEO
Jim Crabbe Konnects CEO As Chairman, CEO, and Co-founder of Konnects, Crabbe focuses on corporate governance, public relations, marketing, and investor relations.

Crabbe has performed consultation, design specification, competitive intelligence, and technology implementation for Fortune 500 level companies such as Dynegy Inc., Microsoft, and Holland America.

Crabbe served as Executive Producer for a PBS affiliate television series "PULSE: The public Health Report." The show won the 2003 Crystal Award of Excellence from The Communicator Awards which recognizes excellence in electronic and print communications. He also created and implemented the marketing program for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Dept. that contributed to the statewide banning of indoor smoking.

Born in Tacoma, Crabbe believes in actively supporting his community. He currently serves on the Technology Advisory Board for U.S. Congressman Adam Smith, and as a board member for the Trauma Trust for Pierce County. He has served on multiple Non-Profit boards within Pierce County including the American Heart Association and the downtown Tacoma Rotary Club #8.

Crabbe has been recognized by the Tacoma-Pierce County of Chamber of Commerce for working to foster a technology industry within the city of Tacoma. In 2000 he was recognized as a Rising Star by the Business Examiner Newspaper "Business Leader of the Year" awards, and again in 2004 as one of the "40 [professionals] under 40 [years old]" business professionals to watch.

Crabbe has received international publicity for his work with Konnects in the form of interviews, published articles, television appearances and speaking events. Crabbe graduated with a degree in Communications/Public Relations from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications at Washington State University.


Jay Gallinatti, COO
Jay Gallinatti Konnects COO Jay Gallinatti has been providing consulting and advisory services to small and growing Internet businesses since 2003. Jay has been a strategic advisory for companies such as Innocentive Inc, Zango and Local Matters.

In March of 1998 Jay joined Overture (previously GoTo.com) as senior vice president of sales and customer service, and was one of the founding members of the executive management team. GoTo.com pioneered the concept of "sponsored listings" within the search results on internet search engines, and had a successful IPO in 1999. In less than four years, the sales and service organization at GoTo.com had grown from one person to a team of 250, while at the same time the company had grown to more than 600 employees generating over $600 million in revenue and $100 million in net profit. Overture was later acquired by Yahoo! in 2003 for $1.6 billion.

Prior to joining GoTo.com, Jay served as vice president, sales and marketing at Austin James, Inc., a consumer software company. Jay spent nine years at Lotus Development Corporation in a variety of roles, including West Coast regional director of sales, and director of marketing for cc:Mail.

Jay received his B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1978.


Nick Huzar, CTO
Nick Huzar Konnects CTO As Chief Techical Officer and Co-Founder of Konnects, Inc., Nick Huzar is currently focused on managing technology development, user interface design, and network operations. In the first year of operation Nick has successfully architected the Konnects platform, grown a team of 15 engineers, and formed successful partnerships with third parties to expand Konnects.

Nick Huzar has experience in designing, creating, and managing web applications. Prior to Konnects, Nick Huzar designed and managed the integration of 96 Entercom locations into 1 centralized extranet and increasing online ticket sales for Paramount Parks to over $1.5 million in less than 6 months.

Most recently, Nick Huzar led the retention side of T-mobile.com increasing new users to over 8 million and generating over $45 million in monthly online revenues. Nick Huzar lead a community website called, "Myalbum" attracting over 1 million photo bloggers in less than 6 months.

Nick Huzar has won 2 Addy awards for the development of online product demos for wireless devices. Nick Huzar has also been a Peak achievement nominee at T-Mobile. Nick Huzar graduated with a B.A. in Management Information Systems from Washington State University.
