Konnects powers online newspaper communities. Our social media platform for magazines and newspapers is intended to bring growth and engagement to your organization's website. Our Software as a Service (SaaS) platform is designed to be integrated into any website easily. The Konnects Community Platform includes social networking, commenting, registration tools, user-generated content, advertising and community analytics for online newspapers and publications. A successful community is much more than just deploying a social appliation. Our solutions team is available throughout the entire community deployment process to assist in multiple areas from strategic planning, launching the platform and goal tracking.

Jay Gallinatti, President & CEO
Jay Gallinatti

Jay Gallinatti has been providing consulting and advisory services to Konnects, Inc since September 2007. Jay joined the Board of Directors in April 2008, and has been serving as President and COO for Konnects since December 2008.

Prior to joining Konnects, Jay served on the Board of Directors for both Zango, Inc and Local Matters, Inc. He continues to serve on the Strategic Advisory Board for Innocentive Inc. In March of 1998 Jay joined Overture (previously GoTo.com) as Senior Vice President of Sales and Customer Service, and was one of the founding members of the executive management team. GoTo.com pioneered the concept of "sponsored listings" within the search results on internet search engines, and had a successful IPO in 1999.

In less than four years, the sales and service organization at GoTo.com had grown from one person to a team of 250, while at the same time the company had grown to more than 600 employees generating over $600 million in revenue and $100 million in net profit. Overture was later acquired by Yahoo! in 2003 for $1.6 billion.

Prior to joining GoTo.com, Jay served as Vice President, Sales and Marketing at Austin James, Inc., a consumer software company. Jay spent nine years at Lotus Development Corporation in a variety of roles, including West Coast Regional Director of Sales, and Director of Marketing for cc:Mail. Jay received his B.A. in Human Biology from Stanford University in 1978.


Jim Crabbe, Co-Founder & Chairman
Jim Crabbe

Jim Crabbe has been working with online social networking and social media since 2001. He formally created and founded Konnects in 2003 and has served as President, CEO and Chairman of the board. Jim has a passion for social media and technology that has lead to his participation in multiple forums, interviews, and speaking engagements both locally and internationally. Topics he has covered include: the ethical Implications of social media, leveraging social media in hyper-local markets, and the effects of social media on the traditional media industry.

Prior to Konnects, Jim has performed consultation, design specification, competitive intelligence, and technology implementation for Fortune 500 level companies such as Dynegy Inc, Microsoft, and Holland America. Jim also served as the Executive Producer for a PBS affiliate television series "PULSE: The public Health Report." The show won the 2003 Crystal Award of Excellence from The Communicator Awards which recognizes excellence in electronic and print communications. He also created and implemented the marketing program for the Tacoma-Pierce County Health Dept. that contributed to the statewide banning of indoor smoking.

Jim has served on multiple non-profit boards, and currently serves on the Technology Advisory Board for U.S. Congressman Adam Smith, and the Trauma Trust for Pierce County. Crabbe graduated with a degree in Communications from the Edward R. Murrow School of Communications at Washington State University.


Sam Haugh, Director & Acting CFO

Sam Haugh is a seasoned hands-on operating executive, having significant startup experience within a twenty-year high-technology career. Most recently he was co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of Intellectual Capital Enterprises, a provider of vendor finance programs and financing solutions to the software industry and its customers.

Sam earlier was Chief Operating Officer at QuickDog, a developer of personalization tools for online retailers. Before joining QuickDog, Sam served in executive roles at Sparks.com, MadeToOrder.com and Worldview Systems. He delivered the initial MadeToOrder offering for the purchase of customized apparel over the Internet, and launched the first travel-related website Travelocity while at Worldview.

Before Worldview, Sam directed computer integrated manufacturing at Sun Microsystems, delivering four automated assembly and test facilities as Sun grew from $200M to $2B. His early experiences were in R&D, manufacturing and marketing at Hewlett-Packard, where he is named inventor on a patent for his work on H-P's first large drafting plotter. Sam holds a BS in mechanical engineering and an MBA, both from Stanford University.


James M. Whitacre, Director

Mr. Whitacre is a tax accountant owning a private practice in Tacoma, WA since 1981. Jim is a 1972 graduate of Western Washington University earning a B.S. degree in business administration and accounting. He has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1973, having spent the first eight years of his career with the regional firm of Knight, Vale and Gregory. He sits on boards including Tacoma Rubber Stamp; and on the advisory board for Paragon Realty (a division of Windermere Realty) and Valiz Capital Management.

Jim is public spirited and has volunteered thousands of hours for local non-profits to benefit the area's residents including being the treasurer for Christmas House for 19 years, an organization that provided free gifts of clothing and toys to low income Pierce County residents; on the board of the Muscular Dystrophy Association for 3 years; on the board of the local and regional American Heart Association since 1992 and playing a major part in the Pacific Mountain Affiliate growing from 4 to 10 states. Jim was also a member of the Optimist Club and a member of Jaycees. While at Jaycee he and several other members cooked up the idea of having a football game between Tacoma and Seattle police/fire employees with the proceeds benefiting children's charities in the Seattle and Tacoma areas. The game is known as the Bacon Bowl. As a member of the Rotary Club of Tacoma #8 Jim has held many offices, including president. Jim also serves on the Multicare Health Foundation board, the philanthropic arm for the Multicare Health System, a regional health care provider.


Bikram Dasgupta, Director

Bikram Dasgupta is the CEO of Globsyn Technologies Ltd. He has been in the global Information Technology Industry since 1980. Mr. Dasgupta currently owns companies which focus on the following areas:

Mr. Bikram Dasgupta single-handedly won the single largest (US$ 50 million) export contract from Dell Computer, USA, which is still rated as the largest single contract in the hardware industry in India. He is also the brains behind the concept of Knowledge Parks in India. His first project, Infinity, in 1996, the first intelligent workplace in India, was heralded as a 'cornerstone' project, redefining 'workplace', from which global deliveries could be executed. Mr. Dasgupta has recently completed his second project, Globsyn Crystals - a 600,000 sq ft infrastructure, billed as India's first Work Habitat; Globsyn Crystals integrates technology and life in one single entity.
